southern cross

Designed and built for one of Australia’s most competitive yacht racers Southern Cross was (and still is) the newest incarnation of a venerable lineage. These yachts were never numbered.

The Jutson 45 Southern Cross was designed to race competitively on Sydney Harbour – Twilight racing mainly. The crew was always competitive and a close winded 7 knot upwind ability was one of the race winning plusses of this design. However, while all this was going on family and friends were enjoying their champagne well sheltered from the elements.

Southern Cross was built by the venerable McConaghy Boats and was launched in 1998.
